ClassJuggler News - December 2017

ClassJuggler Version 7.0.1 Released November 9

On November 9, we released an upgrade to your ClassJuggler software. Of particular interest are two new features that many of you have asked for and many other of our clients will find very useful.

The first of the features, which initially went out to only a few selected clients, is a new Batch Payment Collection tool that allows you to designate what types of charge accounts to collect from each customer's balance. This new ability lets you target payments to only particular transactions that you wish to collect.

For example, if you selected to only collect on transactions that are "competition" charges, customers who also had tuition, merchandise, or other transactions would only have payments collected on "competition" charges. The other unpaid charges would remain in their account unpaid. This gives you pinpoint control over what types of fees you want to collect payment on when running a batch credit card payment cycle. Visit your "Billing > Customer Payments" screen, as well as the online help page for this new feature to learn more.

The second new feature is the Database Maintenance tool. This new and ever growing tool will allow administrators to perform large changes and maintenance to their database without having to call Customer Support. The first of the two features of this new tool allows for a global reset of student measurements. The second feature of the database maintenance tool will allow you to repair account balances in the rare case that a customer's account gets out of balance.

Also included in this release are the following enhancements:

  • Customers can now enter their own payment descriptions in the Customer Portal.
  • Attendance management is now smarter than ever.
  • Easier to read online payment details for credit & debit payments.
  • Viewing student attendance now spans a full year instead of just one month.
  • Much more...

You can always read the full details of each new release by visiting the "ClassJuggler Change Log" section of your Home Base screen.

Final Customer Portal Migration Reminder

The deadline to migrate to the new Customer Portal is rapidly approaching. ClassJuggler will be retiring the old Customer Self-Service Center after December 15, 2017. Don't get caught by the deadline; act now. It's easy to migrate and takes very little of your time.

Important: Links to the old Self-Service Center that have not been updated on your website, will direct your customers to the wrong address. The old address will display an alert page, for a short period of time, that will tell your customers your portal has moved, and to contact you to correct your links.

What happens if I don't migrate on time?
ClassJuggler will automatically migrate all clients who have the Customer Portal feature that have not yet migrated themselves by the deadline. We will also disable the old Customer Self-Service Center system. You may not gain all new features of the Customer Portal when we complete your migration.

Hurricanes and Fires... We Have Not Forgotten

ClassJuggler has been working hard for months now to encourage our clients to help each other out for this year's terrible natural disasters and fires. The ClassJuggler team itself donated over $1,500 to the relief efforts. We have also provided discounts to our affected clients, and 50% matching donations to our clients supporting the relief efforts.

While these disasters may not be front-page news anymore, it is still a tragedy for those affected. We will continue our matching and relief efforts through January of 2018 to go that extra mile to help. We hope you will too.

The End is Near!

No, not the end of the world, just the end of this 2017 calendar year! At the end of each year, we like to remind our clients that it is a good time to do a little maintenance on your ClassJuggler account and think of ways of improving your business. Here are some suggestions we know will help not only save you money, but headaches over time:

  • Cut your costs by using the Mass Status Change and Inactive Record Manager tools to make old records inactive, export them from the database, and reduce your database size.
  • Take advantage of the powerful Customer Payments and Deposit Summary reports for end-of-year financial reporting and for tax time.
  • If you are not already using the brand new mobile friendly Customer Portal to save hours on registrations and customer communications, now is the time to add this feature to your ClassJuggler account.
  • Give yourself a competitive edge by adding Merchant Processing to your ClassJuggler account. Not only does this save hours managing payments from customers, but it adds convenience and batch processing capabilities to collect hundreds of payments in a single click!
